Saramantha's Closet was affectionately named for my daughters, Sara and Samantha. I very often begin to call them by the wrong name, and it somehow turns into "Sara...mantha"....
It is with great love and affection that I dedicate this site to them. They continue to be a great source of pride and joy to their father and me. (I would be remiss if I didn't also send my love to our first born, Scott...who also brings a ton of joy into our lives)

I began sewing for "my girls" before they were born. Many of the patterns I used for this website were "revived" and updated. The "Miss Patty" doll from Alice's Dolls is a pattern I bought over 30 years ago to make dolls for my nieces...years before I had children of my own.

I must also give credit to my mother, Martha, for instilling in me the importance of producing a quality product. I can't remember a time when I didn't sew..a great testament to the Mom who let me use her precious sewing machine (often times cringing as I learned to sew). My Mom and Grandmaman were a great inspiration thoughout my life. I miss them both terribly, though I feel their guidance from above.
